The results of an autopsy released Monday (November 26th) showed that a 32-year-old man who died after eating dozens of live roaches and worms last month in a contest with a python as the top prize choked to death. The Broward County, Florida, medical examiner's office said that Edward Archbold died after being deprived of oxygen due to, quote, "choking and aspiration of gastric contents," and that his airway was obstructed by bug body parts. Archbold collapsed soon after beating out several other contestants in the roach-eating contest at the Ben Siegel Reptile Store in Deerfield Beach.
