Modern rockers Atlas Genius will release their debut album, When It Was Now, on February 19th, 2013, according to the band's publicist. The Australian act has been touring in the U.S. for the past four months, opening for groups like the Silversun Pickups, and will end their 2012 touring blitz with a sold-out headlining show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on December 11th. They will also make their U.S. television debut on the 12th when they perform the hit single "Trojans" on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

  • "Trojans" was the first song written and recorded by the band after they built their own studio in their hometown of Adelaide, Australia.
  • The group put the song on Soundcloud, Spotify, iTunes and the website of a local Australian radio station -- then promptly forgot about it.
  • Singer Keith Jeffery explained, "We began to think that music was a pipedream and we had all gone back to university to pursue more realistic careers." About a month later, however, the song took off and the band began getting offers from record companies, managers and booking agents.
  • "Trojans" is now sitting at Number Six on the Alternative Rock radio chart.
