Disturbed frontman David Draiman has announced that the debut album from his new band, Device, will feature an all-star lineup of guests and will tentatively arrive on April 9th. According to a post at the group's Facebook page, guest musicians on the disc will include Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows, System Of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian, Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, Halestorm singer Lzzy Hale, Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler and ex-Deep Purple bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes.
As previously reported, the touring lineup of the band will feature Evanescence drummer Will Hunt and Dope guitarist Virus, in addition to Draiman and guitarist Geno Lenardo, who is the group's only other permanent member besides the singer.
- The lineup shows the respect that Draiman commands among his musical colleagues, which he told us a while back is very important to him: "It almost feels a little bit sweeter than the success from a commercial standpoint. It's one thing to be successful and sell a couple of million records and to have that commercial success, but it's quite another thing to go into pretty much any musical environment and have everyone give you a good level of respect."
- The first single from the Device album, called "Vilify," arrives at rock radio on February 19th. A video is being produced as well.
- Other songs slated for inclusion on the album are "You Think You Know," "Recover," "Hunted" and "War Of Lies."
- Draiman revealed the existence of Device last March, saying it would be in the vein of industrial acts like Nine Inch Nails and Ministry.
- Disturbed went on an open-ended hiatus in 2011, with Draiman saying at the time that all four members wanted some time to pursue other endeavors. The band has not indicated when it plans to return.
