A man in New York City was arrested after he faked his kidnapping to avoid telling his girlfriend why he was gone for two weeks. A couple of pedestrians in Brooklyn found 36-year-old Rahmell Pettway between two cars, gagged and bound with duct tape. Pettway told police that he had been kidnapped on February 19th by two men in a minivan who spent two weeks driving him from one location to the next. Law-enforcement became suspicious of his story and Pettway ended up confessing that he made up the entire thing because he was avoiding his girlfriend for the two weeks and didn't know what to tell her. An official said, "He's a total moron. It was a pathetic attempt to pull the wool [over] her eyes." He was charged with filing a false report. (New York Post)
