What if your computer could alert your boss when you weren't paying attention? No, it's not the Twilight Zone--it's reality. British researchers from the University of St. Andrews have developed they system that they call "Diff Displays." Developers say it works by an eye-movement tracking camera be attached to the top of the computer monitor that can tell if the user looks away from the screen. But the developers claim the system is not meant to be a boss' spying tool, but rather a system to reduce distractions. The system fades out parts of the screen that are not changing, and highlights portions that are newly updated. Researchers hope it would be particularly useful to people in high-pressure roles who monitor many screens, such as an air-traffic controllers or nuclear power plant workers. (Daily Mail)
